2 Examples of Satire

This photo is very satirical because it poking fun of two issues. It is using a pun and exaggeration. It is drawing attention to the issue of traveling in basketball and traveling at the airport. Relating to this photo is very easy because I play basketball and get called for traveling several times. I also travel a lot and the security checks are only getting longer.

This article is very funny because it states that the trainArticleers, who work for the New York Knicks, do not know what they are doing. The New York Knicks are filled with upcoming athletes such as Jeremy Lin, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler who are all hurt frequently. It is bring attention to the trainers that treat these athletes by saying that these trainers use clipboard, water bottles basketballs, rolls of tape and fist to treat these athletes. In most comedies you have to know what’s going on and this is one of those times.

Textbook elbow to the face thrown in NBA Game!

On April 22^nd the Lakers hosted the Thunder for a matinee game at Staples Centre. In the second quarter Metta World Peace dunked on Durant and Ibaka and threw a nice elbow to James Harden’s temple to celebrate his dunk, what a celebration! After the game Coach Mike Brown believes that this elbow was an inspiration to motivate his team. He also said he is going to show this to his players year after year. World Peace took a step up to Bynum’s knockout opportunity last year in the final game of the Playoffs. His technique had no flaws his elbow was 90 degrees and he put the exact force into James Harden’s face. This elbow will go down as the most precise and perfect elbow in NBA history perhaps in sports history.  Metta is thinking about changing his name, once again, he was considering changing it to “Madcap Tweet Role “, which is an anagram to his second name.

Collingwood students are now getting detentions for wearing Michigan hoodies. After 2 years of wearing improper clothing, Harrison Sekhon, was punished by getting a Friday detention. Harrison was confused about receiving this detention, because no one ever warned him that he was out of uniform. The teacher who caught him said that it was hard to spot the infraction because Collingwood and Michigan have the same school colors, blue and yellow. Young adolescents are now getting the idea of purchasing clothing that has similar appearances as Collingwood uniform. On the other hand, Since Harrison’s detention, teachers are looking more closely at school uniforms.

Funny Stuff

 There are many different comedies such as farce, low comedy,satire and comedy of manners .An example of low comedy is Mr Bean because he is funny because he does stupid things. I found that Russel Peters red, white and brown because he pokes fun of and idea or stereo types. The office is an example of comedy of manners because they use their wit in every day situations. In some episodes such as "They Saved Lisa's Brain"because it is an over exaggeration of certain situations
