This is a photograph Poem

It was taken on a humid summer day
At first it seems to be
boys being boys
This shows a younger boy showing his strength
then, as you look closer at it, you see an adult
making a young boy dreams come true

In the background there are many children and teenagers having fun, while playing basketball. (The photograph was taken during the peak of his childhood)

Energize: Deflate

The two binary opposite songs that I chose are “Eye of a Tiger” by Survivor and “Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Green Day.  I picked these two songs because these are great examples of binary opposites for several reasons.

Eye of the Tiger is one of the most recognized pump up songs because it is very motivational. When I played hockey, before the game we always used to play it to pump us up. It is very motivational because the lyrics are so deep. "Risin' up, back on the street, did my time took my chances. Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet".

Wake Me Up When September Ends is a very deep and depressing song. It makes you think about death and war.  When you listen to this song,in a way, it deflates you. It makes you feel this way because of its lyrics."Here comes the rain again. Falling from the stars. Drenched in my pain again. Becoming who we are". These are the reasons I think that these are binary opposites.

Five Sense Poem

Love: Hate

Love is the pink in roses when you give it to your date
It sounds like waves crashing by a beach side resort
Love smells like freshly baked muffins in the morning
It tastes like a hot fudge sundae, melting in your mouth
It feels like a hot shower after a freezing soccer game in the winter

Synonym Poem

Disgusting, Repulsive, Foul, Awful
It’s so gross you wouldn't ask for another cupful

Synonym Poem

Delicious, Delectable, Mouthwatering, Scrumptious,
I love it when my mom packs me great lunches.

Five Sense Poem

Jealousy: Understanding

Jealousy is the red anger in people’s eyes
It sounds like the screeching of rubber tires before a car accident.
Jealousy smells like the rotten apple you left in your locker for the whole year.
It tastes like a acidic lemon that burns your skin.
It feels like germs killing one of your brain cells.
